#coachmikepodcast episode 30

Happy 30th Episode, everyone!

This week, I have an in depth conversation with Canadian Olympian, and first Canadian Man under the 1min barrier in the 100BR, Scott Dickens. Scott talks about missing the 2008 Olympic team, despite being the favourite , and how it motivated him to continue to swim. Fantastic message on the heals of Zack Chetrat's speech in episode 29.

I also speek to Kelly from the popular swim parent's blog Flylikeagirl.org. Kelly talks about being a swim parent and how to enhance your child's swim experience, rather than interfering with it. Great listen for swim parents of all levels.

#coachmikepodcast episode 29

Chris Wilson (Swimming Canada's Marketing & Events Coordinator) stops by to talk about The Big Splash 2012. Check out the website for the latest news and vote for Swim of the Year.

Zack Chetrat (TSC) shares his experience of missing his goal with the Halton Hills Blue Fins. Talks about missing the Olympic Team by .02 seconds. It is not often that we get to hear this perspective and how one moves on with life. Thank you, Zack, for sharing this experince with the Blue Fins. It takes a very strong person to be able to get up after a hit like Zack took and an even stroner person to be able to talk about it and use that experience to help others. This is a great speech and definitly worth the 17min of your time.
